Description
Product This is the first full-length album by Ringo Sheena, the groundbreaking Japanese singer-songwriter who debuted in May 1998 with the single “Kofukuron.” On this record she fully reveals her talent as an album artist, crafting a bold and cohesive work that quickly established her as a leading female artist in Japan. The album blends the drama of early 20th-century Japanese popular song with the raw energy of punk rock, creating an innovative melodic structure and sound. Lyrically, it explores erotic desire, destructive impulses, and dark romanticism with poetic intensity, while hysteric guitar bursts and her powerful, rolled-tongue vocal style give the songs a visceral, avant-garde edge that remains highly accessible.Featuring 11 tracks, including the NTV show “Downtown DX” ending theme “Koko de Kiss Shite,” this release showcases Ringo Sheena’s self-described “Kabukicho-style” musical world: provocative, anarchic, and visually imaginative, with a unique sound that has inspired countless followers and continues to rank on Japanese charts.
